Acknowledgement system for teachers

The acknowledgement system of for teachers’ didactic competencies is being developed in line with the strategy implementation priorities of Kaunas University of Technology and the main European higher education trends. The goal of the acknowledgement system for teachers under development is to help teachers identify the didactic competencies required for successful teaching activities, effectively manage and develop the teacher’s career path in the long term by providing him/her with systematic support.

The University acknowledgement system for teachers’ didactic competencies enables the improvement of the teacher’s performance by identifying specific tasks and providing systematic support for the successful performance of these tasks, and creates the conditions to reveal the potential for the development of teachers’ didactic competencies, as well as increases the teachers’ motivation in academic work and encourages teachers to pursue further teaching/learning outcomes.

The following main values of the acknowledgement system for teachers under development can be distinguished:

• It is a structured and reasonable development path to develop the teacher’s academic career;
• The system is evidence-based, which leads to the acknowledgement and assessment of didactic competencies
• The system contributes to fostering a quality culture based on the University values;
• Systematic support is provided to the teacher, aimed at strengthening didactic competencies;
• The academic community is empowered to achieve better results in study quality.
